Arlington 7A Project Wins Project of the Year Honors
Fru-Con Construction has won the “Best of 2010 Project of the Year” award in the Civil/Public Works category from McGraw-Hill’s Mid-Atlantic Construction magazine for the Phase 7A upgrade and expansion of the Arlington County Water Pollution Control Plant in Arlington, Virginia. Fru-Con completed the $136.5 million contract within budget and on time earlier this year.
The annual competition recognizes construction and design excellence in a region spanning Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, D.C. Over 100 entries vied for top honors in various categories, based on construction type. An independent jury of industry experts reviewed the entries. Eligible projects had to be completed between Sept. 1, 2009, and Sept. 1, 2010. “Best of 2010 Project of the Year” awards were given to the first-place entries that the judges considered truly exceptional. Winning projects will be featured in an upcoming issue of Mid-Atlantic Construction and will be honored at an event to be held in Baltimore, Maryland on Dec. 10.
Special recognition for his outstanding leadership of the Fru-Con team and his excellent partnerships with the owner, Arlington County, and engineer, AECOM, goes to Fru-Con’s Vice President, Mike Fischer.
This award recognizes the stellar performance of the entire Fru-Con team and its effective partnership with our client as we continue to follow Fru-Con’s hallmarks of Quality •Performance•Service•Integrity.
